![]() Wife got 4 small fried scallops and 4 fried shrimp on a giant plate. Waitress forgot about us after order (I'll reiterate, she was polite as could be), food came and the crabs were tiny and looked like the crappy commercial grade frozen in a bag ones you'd get. Two of us got the soft shell crab plate ($14) and one of us got fried shrimp and scallops (also $14). Waitress was pleasant, decor wasn't great, but whatever - it seemed more like a barbecue joint, and I'm fine with that. We got an early start and decided to hit up this place in Columbia since we had extra time. When we drive from the Triangle out to Hatteras for fishing on a friday night, the dinner stop is usually in Plymouth at fast food, simply to go with what we know. Not sure there are many options otherwise, but we would explore something different if we return to this area. The hamburger steak was decent, but again, not hot when it came out. The seafood was a little rubbery and not hot when it came out, definitely frustrating when we waited half an hour for our food to come out with two small children at our table. The cheeseburger and the fries were probably the best parts. We had some seafood as well as a Reuben and a cheeseburger. The buffet was advertised as "almost empty." And our food was just ok. The cold air blew really strong above our table, which made it tough to relax. There were some definitely bright spots but overall, our high hopes went unfulfilled. We had such high hopes after reading the menu and reviews. As always when we complete a race, we look forward to our post-race meal and choose the location carefully. We stopped here on our way back toward Raleigh from the OBX half-marathon.
